Due to these tough times I would like to mention a couple of places that may be able to help the budget. Now open the Childrens Barn at 255 Maple St. (right next to the Skatepark/Spanish church. 666-8555 to find out the hours. They have lots of clothing items for kids and young adults. They also have some baby furniture. The prices are reasonable and the staff are real helpful. Now for haircuts. Elli cuts men, women, and childrens hair for 10 dollars!!! Now thats a bargain. You can even call to make an appt. at 603-264-3397. Elli has moved so call for an appt. first. Food for Children, my dear friend Steve has been handing out food on Saturday mornings at the JFK Coliseum (and all the wondrful volunteers) for years now. If you need a little extra and are finding yourself a little short before payday go down to the JFK (located next to Beech St. School) on Saturday mornings around 8:30 am. The food is all free and they have different stuff each week. Please be patient in line, don't double dip, and take what only you need. You can come back on a weekly basis if needed. You can also volunteer. Next up is the animal rescue league of New Hampshire in Bedford They also have a food bank for pets as does the Animal shelter in Manchester. If your finding it hard to feed your pet call and see what they can do for you. Bedford animal rescue is 603-471-dogs/the Manchester Dog pound is 603-628-3544. They also have neutering and spaying programs for your pet as well. I hope some of these businesses can help you and your family. Fuel asst. is still taking apps. but there is a waiting list, call 6688010.If you have any other places that may help in times of need let us know and we can add it to our newsletter. 1-800-safelink for a tracfone cell phone if you qualify for one. They put on a few minutes every month and for those of you that might need one call today. If you have a business that might help others please let us know and we can put it in the newsletter.
I want to Thank everyone who helped with the Christmas party this year. Thanks bunches to M-Cam for letting us have it at their studio and taping it. We would love for them to tape us every year. It was a super success and we had over 200 people attend. There always is something to learn though and we have learned a couple of things this year that we will be doing differently next year. However, Mr. Frost from the Boys and GIrls club has told us that this coming year we will be able to have it back there as they will be done remodeling. There will be lots of programs there also and I would hope that if their is some folks out there that can volunteer for the programs added to the Boys and Girls Club please call Mr. Frost.
